Families are led on a visual and physical exploration of the Fondation Louis Vuitton, and make their own architectural objects. The workshop will explore the concepts of balance, space, forces, tensions, colours and transparency, around the building and in the studio.

Tours scheduled in relation with the exhibition "Art/afrique, le nouvel atelier"

 

Led by a guide, children and parents will discover the exhibition “Art/Afrique, Le Nouvel Atelier” and learn about the stories and rhymes inspired by different African cultures. Participants of all ages will set off together on an artistic journey filled with extraordinary tales and characters.

Take part in our new workshops for families and experience the architecture and colourful intervention by Daniel Buren on a specially choreographed tour. Accompanied by a dancer and a leader, parents and children will interact more closely with Frank Gehry’s building through this fun and physical exploration.

Nursery Rhyme Tour for 3 to 5-year-olds with their families

Led by a guide, children and parents will discover the works of the current exhibition, "Chinese Artists at the Fondation Louis Vuitton", through storytelling and nursery rhymes that combine poems from the East and West. The works are brought to life in rhyme and through hands-on games and word play that tap into the pleasures of language and the imagination.

Collecting involves selecting, combining, organising, categorising and... displaying! Looking at works from the Shchukin collection, children and their parents will be called upon to imagine themselves in the role of collector before creating a little museum of their very own.

Short storytelling tours for families

A short tour lasting around 15 minutes during which parents and children explore the Shchukin exhibition. These tours, aimed at families with children aged 4 to 8, are free and do not need to be pre-booked.

 

Short family tours are available every day during French school holidays and at weekends. They last 15 minutes.

 

To make it easier for families to visit, there is a special pass which allows all members of the family to enjoy cultural activities: the Family Pass.

“The Light Catcher”

In connection with Daniel Buren's installation

Through Daniel Buren's installation, children and adults alike could travel through the many colourful facets of the Fondation Louis Vuitton, which has become a giant kaleidoscope.

After an experience spent seeking lights and shadows, they participated in a workshop examining how transparency, opaqueness and colour change our perception of space.

24 September 2016: #FLVkids event workshop

Based on the Cartoon Colouring Book produced by Claire Faÿ for the Fondation Louis Vuitton, children and their parents are being invited for a great hands-on colouring workshop, featuring illustrations from the book. Once completed, the pictures will be photographed using the BlinkBook app, which instantly transforms them into animated films.

In honour of the Journées du Patrimoine (European Heritage Days), the Fondation Louis Vuitton is inviting children and adults alike to experiment with shape and form, taking inspiration from its architecture. Using stamps, transfers and a special kind of stencil, the structure, design and setting of the Fondation will all contribute to its reinvention.

Tels des voyageurs aventureux, équipés de leur boussole, enfants et parents sont partis à la découverte de l'art contemporain chinois. Pendant ce parcours initiatique, ils ont exploré "un territoire" qui représente l'ailleurs, le lointain, le temps présent et les mythes passés... Jalonné d'histoires et de rencontres avec des objets, des couleurs, des odeurs, des textures, nos jeunes voyageurs ont capturé des mots, des images, des impressions, rassemblés ensuite dans un carnet faits des souvenirs et des repères de ce voyage imaginaire.

To discover the music of the building and its hidden sounds, children and parents will first build the appropriate exploration tool. Then, together, they explore and listen to places and works.

Pendant les vacances de Noël, enfants et parents ont pu se mettre à l'écoute grâce un outil d'exploration qu'ils avaient construit eux-mêmes. Ainsi, ils purent partir pister la musique du bâtiment et les couleurs sonores de l’Accrochage.

More than a few weeks to discover the hang Pop & Music! Before it ends, during the Christmas holidays, children and parents will be able to tune in through an exploration tool they have built themselves. Thus, they can track the music from the building and the sound colors of Barney.

Workshop - Event: Animated Drawing book

In honour of the publication of the Animated Drawing book directed by Claire Faÿ for the Fondation Louis Vuitton, children and parents are invited to a large participatory colouring workshop, to colour the boards of this work. Once made, they are photographed via BlinkBook application to be instantly transformed into cartoons.

Holiday workshops: “Sound Harvester” for accompanied 6 to 10 years old

From 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., every day from 17 October to 1 November 2015.

 

To discover the music of the building and the sonorous colours of the ‘Pop’ and ‘Music’ hang, children and parents begin by arming themselves with a suitable tool. Together, they go through the workshop and build their own mini-amplifier before setting off to explore both the venue and the works via this sophisticated listening instrument.

“Flying machines and the big ship,” for accompanied 6 to 10-year-olds

From 2.30 p.m. to 5 p.m., every Saturday and Sunday, from 11 July to 30 August 2015.

 

Inspired by the image of the flying fish, the great greenhouses of the 19th century, and the metaphor of a big ship about to weigh anchor, the Fondation Vuitton will encourage children and adults alike to create their own flying machine. Supplied with mini-airships, participants will use them to observe the architectural structure of the Fondation and propose their own “flying” interpretation.

Accompanied by a member of the activities team, children and parents will discover works from the third “Pop” and “Music” presentations through nursery rhymes and poems. Using hands as well as words, the works and the architecture will be explored through the pleasures of language, poetry, and vision.

Until 28 June 2015, from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., every Saturday and Sunday. Meet at the Fondation daily.

 

At this Workshop, children and adults will be invited to use a selection of artworks in which colour plays the principal role to experiment with its power of expression, and create their portrait and draw the shadow cast by their body.

Discovery trail "Follow Philae!" for 3 to 5-year-olds with their family:

Until 28 June 2015, from 2 to 3:15 p.m., and from 4 to 5:15 p.m., every Saturday and Sunday. Discovery trail and storytelling. For the whole family.

 

Children and parents are invited to join Philae, a little extraterrestrial who has followed her comet and landed in the Fondation. Exploring her new surroundings, she wonders where she is and what exactly she’s discovered: a giant flower, a musical lung, icebergs inhabited by the ‘Storm Brothers’, a ‘planetary cake’…

 

As she wanders around, with help from the children Philae will collect the information she needs to take back some truly extraordinary memories of her strange visit to a new planet.
