From school to university
True to its public service role, the Fondation extends a particularly warm welcome to school groups, offering specific time slots outside of general opening times for your convenience and comfort.
The visitor guidance teams give tours aimed at children and themed around architecture, the collection and exhibitions. They work with teachers to make their visit a truly rewarding cultural and educational experience.
For all levels: A choice of two themes
- Architectural walking tour :
Accompanied by a Fondation guide, your class sets off to explore the building, the story of its construction and its relationship with the site, and the commissions executed in situ linked to the architecture. In the form of a leisurely stroll from gallery to gallery, taking in viewpoints and panoramas, the itinerary offers insights into the Fondation's ingenious and complex creative process. Although focused on the architectural project and the way it fits into the Jardin d’Acclimatation, the tour also presents a selection of the works of art on display to give visitors an insight into the Fondation's programmes.
Length: 90-minutes Tour.
- Art Discovery:
The Fondation boasts an exceptional collection of modern and contemporary works of art, which are regularly displayed between exhibitions.
The guides introduce visitors to the collection and a selection of works reflecting the key principles underpinning the collection. While chronology is important, the guides offer a different point of view, highlighting the artists' sensibilities and giving an overview of modern and contemporary art history.
Length: 90 minutes

Featuring group-participation nursery rhymes, poems and fables and using hands-on games and word play, these living stories bring art and architecture to life for our youngest visitors.

Specially designed for children aged 8-12, “Apprentice Architect” is a fun and enjoyable app that encourages kids to actively explore the new Frank Gehry building on their own.
Available for iPad free of charge in both French and English at the App Store, “Apprentice Architect” is a virtual companion for your family visit which challenges your child’s observational and deductive skills, dexterity, and above all creativity, so that he or she can become an “apprentice architect”.
From sketching to site management, children can try their hand at various steps in the construction process with six fun, clever games :
- Draw and build with "My sketchbook": trace the outlines of a nature-inspired building then use "My studio" to render it three-dimensional,
- Observe and watch with "Look around you": find unique perspectives, photograph them, then hunt out the hidden characters who built the Fondation or run it today in the "Where's Frank?" mural,
- Skilfully control the crane and painstakingly install the glass sails in "Take the controls",
- Discover the secrets of construction in the "How does this work?" quiz.
So that as many people as possible can use the application, there are a number of tablets available free for use by the public.
