Lives and works in London (United Kingdom)
Standing apart from his contemporaries, the Young British Artists, Mark Leckey rose to fame with his 1999 work, "Fiorucci Made Me Hardcore".Approaching sound as a plastic element in itself, he uses it in videos, installations and performances that combine conferences, sound and music. Rejecting the idea of art that is dissociated from everyday life, he draws inspiration from his environment, rave music and new technologies as consumer objects.
