"All Crows Under the Sun Are Black!" (2012) is part of a series of monumental landscapes, dissociated from all notions of temporality, made by Yan Pei-Ming since 1996.In this canvas a flock of crows flies above the Acropolis, emerging from a chaotic cloud of dark marks. The size of the piece and its sombre palette give the landscape an allegorical, universal quality.
Born in 1960, in Shanghai (China)
Lives and works in Dijon (France)
Since the end of the 1980s, Yan Pei-Ming has been known for his “epic-sized” canvasses, often bi-chromatic, painted with large expressive brushes.Learn more about the artist
