"Chick speaks to duck, pig speaks to dog" takes its title from a Chinese proverb.

Three men perched in a tree communicate at night using animal noises, following an ancient tradition. Filmed in an urban park, the piece echoes the large-scale movement of the Chinese population in recent decades and the loss of traditional means of communication that this entails.
