The quadriptych "Self-Portrait" (1978) comprises four square self-portraits of the same size, based on snapshots.

Each image features three slightly offset superimposed photos of the artist’s face, making his head appear to rotate. This work marks a change in the treatment of self-portraiture. The artist combines techniques from painting, photography and screen printing - brushstrokes are visible, and the two lower portraits are negative prints.
