"Ten Portraits of Jews of the Twentieth Century" (1980) features individuals chosen by the artist from a list of 100 names drawn up with his gallerist Ronald Feldman, and is one of the artist’s rare group portraits.

Based on archive material, they form an intellectual and artistic pantheon of the 20th century, from Sigmund Freud and Sarah Bernhardt to Albert Einstein and the Marx Brothers.
