For the 2019’s edition of the European Night of Museums, the Fondation will be open on Saturday 18 May from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.!
This European Night of Museums is the perfect occasion to discover the ongoing exhibitions:
The exhibition presents the collection of the British entrepreneur and art patron Samuel Courtauld, which hasn’t been showed in Paris for the past 60 years. It features some of the greatest paintings from the end of the 19th century and from the beginning of the 20th century. Manet, Seurat, Cézanne and many others await.
The Fondation displays a new selection of 70 works from its Collection and gathers 23 international artists from the 1960s to the present day around one main theme: painting. Discover works from Joan Mitchell, Alex Katz, Yayoi Kusama or even Jesús Rafael Soto in the galleries and on the terrace of the Fondation.
Open Space is a programme dedicated to the most contemporary artistic expressions. National and International artists are invited to create a specific project for the Fondation. For Open Space #5, the Fondation hosts for her first personal exhibition in Europe, the African-American artist based in Los Angeles, Lauren Halsey. She has created a new installation made up of geological module –Funk Mound–.
