Piano Jazz Sessions Herbie Hancock
Hancock continues to amaze audiences across the globe with his innovative approach to music, his career now spanning seven decades, crowned with 14 Grammy Awards. He always pushes the limits of jazz by incorporating his funk rhythms, his experimental sounds and elements of rock, R&B or hip hop.
Through his artistic commitment, he promotes intercultural dialogue and claims culture and the arts as vectors of peace. It is this deep devotion that led him to be named UNESCO “Goodwill Ambassador” in 2011, then to create the “International Jazz Day” designated each year on April 30 in more than 190 countries.
His creative, free, experimental approach, yet so significant in popular culture and in the minds of several generations, resonates with the artistic personalities of Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol, themselves presented in dialogue at the Fondation within the “Basquiat x Warhol. Painting Four Hands” exhibition.
