Scope of the terms of use


Access to and browsing on the website https://www.fondationlouisvuitton.fr/ (the "Site") are governed by these Terms Of Use (TOU) effective from 27 October 2014.
You accordingly agree to fully acquaint yourself with these Terms Of Use prior to any use of the Site and to refer regularly to them prior to each visit in order to acquaint yourself with the latest version of the TOU. If you do not accept all or part of the provisions of these TOU, please refrain from using the Site, or the services to which it gives access.
Fondation Louis Vuitton reserves the right to modify the TOU at any time. In this case, the modified TOU take effect from their online publication. Therefore we recommend that you regularly read the TOU[1] every time you visit. Please note that it is the latest version of the TOU[2] that will govern your access to and your use of the Site or of the services, if you access it and use them following a modification.

The information provided on the Site is for information purposes. Fondation Louis Vuitton does its utmost to guarantee the accuracy and updating of the information provided on this Site, of which it reserves the right to correct, at any time and without prior notice, the content. However, Fondation Louis Vuitton cannot guarantee the accuracy, precision or exhaustiveness of the information provided on this Site. Accordingly, the user accepts that he/she/it is exclusively liable for his/her/its use of this information.


- For any inaccuracy or omission regarding the information available on the Site;

- For any damage resulting from fraudulent intrusion by a third party having caused modification to the information provided on the Site;

- And more generally for any indirect damage, irrespective of its cause, origin, type or consequences, particularly including costs that may be incurred as a result of the acquisition of goods proposed on the Site, losses of profits, of customers and/or of data or any other loss of intangible assets that may occur as a result of access by anyone to the Site or inability to access it or the credit given to any information directly or indirectly provided by the Site.

Accordingly, Fondation Louis Vuitton cannot be held liable on any basis whatsoever, and without this list being exhaustive, in case of use by a third party of your user name and of your password or in case of modification, suspension or shutdown of the Site as a result of your actions, of the insurmountable and unforeseeable actions of a third party or in case of force majeure.

Fondation Louis Vuitton accepts no liability relating to inappropriate use of the services or of their content.



Given that the Site is liable to be upgraded, Fondation Louis Vuitton may be required to shut down the Site in case of maintenance, technological upgrades, malfunctions or the actions of third parties.

Prior notice shall be given of any shutting down of the Site via a warning (pop-up window) featured on the home page or by any other means.

Fondation Louis Vuitton shall take all reasonable measures to restore access as quickly as possible.



The Site may include links to other websites or other internet sources. Insofar as Fondation Louis Vuitton cannot control these sites and these external sources, Fondation Louis Vuitton cannot be held liable for the provision of these sites and external sources, and cannot accept any liability regarding the content, advertisements, products, services or any other material available on or via these sites or external sources. The Site as well as any software that must be used in relation with it may contain confidential information and be protected by current intellectual property law or any other law. Accordingly, unless otherwise stated (particularly in the "Credits", the intellectual property rights to documents contained on the Site and each of the items created for this Site are exclusive property of Fondation Louis Vuitton or its licensors, Fondation Louis Vuitton not granting any license or any right other than that of consulting the Site. The trademarks and other intellectual property rights mentioned on the site are property of the relevant LVMH Group entities.

You agree to use the Site in accordance with current national and international regulations and to neither hinder nor disrupt the working of the Site.

The use of all documents/content (texts, software, audio documents, photographs, videos and drawings that appear on or are available via the Site) published on the Site is only authorised for exclusively informative purposes for personal and private use, any reproduction and any use of copies made for other purposes being specifically prohibited except with specific permission from Fondation Louis Vuitton and/or the relevant LVMH Group entities and/or holders of intellectual property rights having granted a license to Fondation Louis Vuitton or to the LVMH Group entities. It is also prohibited to copy, modify, create a derivative work, reverse engineer or assemble or in any other way attempt to find the source code (except within the limits authorised by law), sell, assign, sub-license or transfer in any way whatsoever any right relating to the Site / content that is available on it. Likewise, it is also prohibited to modify the Site/content or use modified versions of the Site / of the content and particularly in order to obtain unauthorised access to a Site service and/or access the Site/content by another means than via the interface with which you are provided by Fondation Louis Vuitton for this purpose.

Any databases featured on the Site are protected by the provisions of the law of 1 July 1998 transposing into the French Intellectual Property Code (Code de la Propriété Intellectuelle) the European Directive of 11 March 1996 on the legal protection of databases.  Accordingly, Fondation Louis Vuitton specifically prohibits any reuse, reproduction or extraction of items from these databases. The user is liable for any unauthorised reuse, reproduction or extraction.

Use of the site by minors

If you are a minor, you cannot use the Site without prior permission from the person(s) with parental authority over you and unless this(-ese) person(s) with parental authority has(-ve) accepted to vouch for your compliance with the TOU.

The registration forms to sign up for a service must be filled in by the person with parental authority over you. Failing this, your sign-up cannot be valid.

In case of any use of the Site by a minor User, the person(s) with parental authority over the relevant User is(are) fully liable.

Personal data

The terms for the processing of your personal data in connection with your browsing on the Site are described in the Confidentiality Policy that we recommend you read carefully.



If any one of the clauses whatsoever is found to be null and void, it shall be deemed nugatory but will not cause the other clauses to be annulled. If Fondation Louis Vuitton fails to exercise any one of the rights resulting from these TOU, this does not constitute abandonment of its rights.

Governing law and jurisdiction

Attempts must be made to reach an amicable settlement to any dispute that arises regarding the interpretation and performance of these TOU.

Failing amicable settlement, the dispute shall be subject to French law, and referred to the competent court within the jurisdiction of the Court of Appeal in Paris ruling according to French law, except in the event that this clause is deemed nugatory in accordance with article 48 of the French Civil Procedure Code (Code de procédure civile).

These TOU are governed by French law.
