In this film, Lil Buck – the Memphis jookin star, also famous for his forays into ballet – takes us on a tiptoed visit of the exhibition “Icons of Modern Art. The Shchukin Collection”, his first improv dance in a museum. Directed by British filmmaker Andrew Margetson, Buck reacts to the Fondation’s architecture with his signature moves. Dancing to a music score by Euvgeni and Sasha Galperine, he makes his sneakers squeak on the concrete floor, floats on the escalators and finally takes wing in the Matisse and Picasso rooms.
"As performance artists and dancers we see everything as art". – Lil Buck
"What I love about this project is that it gives us a new way of seeing Buck. Rather than being outsiders looking in, we’re now positioned alongside him, going on a journey into the heart of the iconic building with him". – Andrew Margetson
