Recto/verso French charity Secours Populaire at the Fondation Louis Vuitton

At the Fondation Louis Vuitton, 100 artists from around the world are working with the charity Secours Populaire Français to encourage access to art and culture for all.

Secours Populaire Français is supported by LVMH / Moët Hennessy. Louis Vuitton is proud to announce the second edition of its "recto/verso" (“Front/Back”) event, for which 100 French and international artists are donating one of their works to Secours Populaire Français. The 100 artworks will be on display from 15 to 24 June 2018, before being auctioned on Sunday 24 June at the Fondation Louis Vuitton.

All funds raised through the auction go towards supporting the activities of Secours Populaire to give disadvantaged people access to art and culture.

Following the success of the first event in 2015, "recto/verso" takes place from 15 to 24 June 2018.

Exhibition at the Fondation Louis Vuitton

All 100 artworks are on display in a special exhibition from Friday 15 June to Sunday 24 June in the Fondation hall. The artworks are by internationally renowned and upcoming artists alike, and will be presented on an equal footing.

Specialist guides

A special guide service is provided throughout the event, organised jointly by Secours Populaire volunteers and the Fondation Louis Vuitton team, to enable families and individuals who receive year-round assistance from Secours Populaire to visit the "recto/verso" exhibition, as well as Frank Gehry’s iconic building and the new exhibition at the Fondation: "In Tune with the World".

The works are all of the same size, 40 x 50 cm, and are each signed on the back by the artist. They are sold at auction on Sunday 24 June at 3 p.m., with a starting price of €300. The artists’ signatures will be revealed once the bidding is over.

Two free days’ entry to the Fondation Louis Vuitton

Entry to the Fondation Louis Vuitton is free on Wednesday 20 June and Sunday 24 June to enable as many as people as possible - Parisians, French and international visitors - to visit the "recto/verso" exhibition and all the other cultural events.
