She made her US debut at New York’s Carnegie Hall in 2008 and has since performed at the Hollywood Bowl, the iTunes Festival, the BBC Proms and many other international festivals, including Salzburg, Verbier, Gstaad Menuhin, La Roque d’Anthéron, Klavier-Festival Ruhr, and “Progetto Martha Argerich”. Larger venues, as well, have hosted her talents: Carnegie Hall in New York, Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, Royal Festival Hall in London, Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Berliner Philharmonie, Philharmonie de Paris and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, La Scala in Milan, the Hollywood Bowl, Venice’s La Fenice, Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, Geneva’s Victoria Hall, Tonhalle in Zurich, Rudolfinum in Prague, the Shanghai Grand Theater, Beijing NCPA , Mumbai NCPA, Tokyo Suntory Hall, Singapore Esplanade Theater, and other great halls.
She has collaborated with artists of international renown, such as Maestro Zubin Mehta, Placido Domingo, Kent Nagano, Neeme Järvi, Paavo Järvi, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Mikhail Pletnev, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Gustavo Dudamel, Jaap Van Zweden, Semyon Bychkov, Myung-Whun Chung, Philippe Jordan, Long Yu, Francois-Xavier Roth and Leonard Slatkin. She has also played with the most prestigious orchestras: Israel Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, Toronto Symphony, São Paulo State Symphony, China Philharmonic, NHK Symphony, London Symphony, BBC Symphony, Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre National de France, Filarmonica della Scala, Vienna Symphony, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Radio France Philharmonic, Tonhalle Orchester Zurich, Orchestre National de Lyon, Munich Philharmonic, the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, and more.
Ms Buniatishvili has been involved in a number of projects in recent seasons: a charity concert for Syrian refugees for the United Nations’ 70th anniversary, another in Kiev for wounded persons in the Anti-Terrorist Operation Zone, “To Russia with Love” – a concert in Berlin to speak out against human-rights violations in Russia –, and the DLDWomen conference in Munich. In the world of pop-rock music, she worked with Coldplay on the group’s album “A Head Full Of Dreams”.
Discography: As an exclusive Sony Classical artist, her discography includes Franz Liszt (2011) and Chopin with the Orchestre de Paris and Paavo Järvi (2012), Motherland (2014) and Kaleidoscope (2016). She also recorded Piano Trios with Gidon Kremer and Giedre Dirvanauskaite (ECM, 2011) and a CD for violin and piano sonatas with Renaud Capuçon (Erato, 2014).
Ms Buniatishvili has twice won Berlin’s ECHO Classik award, in 2012 and in 2016, for her Franz Liszt and Kaleidoscope albums, respectively.
Her latest releases are a recording of Rachmaninov’s Concertos 2 and 3 with the Czech Philharmonic conducted by Paavo Järvi and Schubert in 2019, both on Sony Classical.
