Ange Leccia
Ange Leccia (born in 1952 in Minerviu, Corsica) is an artist based between Paris and Corsica.
At the crossroads of experimental cinema, installation art and video, his work draws on nature, light and the elements to create evocative images that invite contemplation. Since the 1980s, he has been developing ‘arrangements’ — poetic installations exploring the relationships between beings, objects and the environment — and superimposing images to achieve, in his own words, ‘the precise balance in the relationship between things’. His videos play on the ambiguity between beauty and violence, loss and return, simplicity and intensity.
His major works include: La Mer (1991), Île de beauté (1996), Gold (2000), and Christophe… Définitivement (2022), co-directed with Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster and selected for the Cannes Film Festival.
A unifier of talent, he founded and directed Le Pavillon, the Palais de Tokyo’s creative laboratory (2000–2017).
