Alert and sophisticated, sometimes with influences from traditional music or krautrock sounds, the music of Frànçois & The Atlas Mountains is a kind of forward-looking pop made even more attractive by a slight touch of madness. Steadily on the rise since 2005, the band - led by intrepid singer-songwriter François Marry - has distilled prolific inspiration from six albums, four of them on the legendary Domino records label. With an assertive singularity, Frànçois & The Atlas Mountains practice a form of fugue pop with a quirky charm that seems impossible to resist.
