The Fondation Louis Vuitton, in partnership with the Jardin d’Acclimatation amusement park, is pleased to announce the third Family Festival! During this weekend of creativity and fun, the Fondation, the Frank Gehry building, the Basquiat x Warhol. Painting Four Hands exhibition and the Jardin become a playground for children and their families. Concerts, art workshops, live shows, hip-hop dance, storytelling walks and sports – a thousand ways to play, experiment, explore, try and taste new things.

 

Young and old alike are invited to learn about the Fondation building and see the Basquiat x Warhol. Painting Four Hands exhibition. On the terraces or in the Jardin, at the Auditorium or in the Galleries, hand-in-hand with your children, enjoy a wide variety of family-friendly activities. Spend a joyful day of surprises and delights with poetic shows like “Le petit B” created by choreographer Marion Muzac, outdoor hip-hop dance classes, a collaborative fresco with artist BAULT ending with music from Chassol in the Auditorium! Toddlers, too, have special activities reserved just for them: the “Jeu-minots” workshop offered by artist Claude Como, creative games from artist-illustrator Élisa Géhin, baby tours, live shows and a relaxation area.

 

There will be food trucks, too, for the whole family to enjoy: Pizza del Popolo and La Cantine du Marché.

Tickets are good for one full day of access to all Festival activities as well as the Fondation exhibition and the Jardin d’Acclimatation amusement park.

Bodies like mountains, to be assembled and deconstructed... Around a repertoire of screen-printed foam shapes created by Elisa Géhin, babies and parents play at ground level!

"CROWN" WORKSHOP

ON THE GREEN MIRROR - JARDIN D'ACCLIMATATION

It all starts by looking at our surroundings – nature and all the shapes, colours and textures found there. This workshop, “La Fabrique de la Nature” or “Nature’s Factory,” is designed and led by designer Flora Koel, who encourages participants to explore, craft, experiment, handle and test the natural materials found in the Jardin d’Acclimatation. With a few simple tools and easy assembly techniques, children turn things found in nature into their crown, a tribute to Jean-Michel Basquiat.

“TEN FINGERS” WORKSHOP

ON THE GREEN MIRROR - JARDIN D'ACCLIMATATION

Saturday and Sunday continuously from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 6pm

Like Basquiat and Warhol, join forces to create your own self-portrait. The workshop, designed by artist and illustrator Mélanie Alpach, invites you to compose a creation using emblematic elements from the works of both artists, and leave with a personal, colorful work of art!

“THE MINI FACTORY” WORKSHOP

Like Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol at the Factory, children experiment with the techniques used by the two artists and compose a unique creation with the funny characters of the artist BAULT!

SCREEN-PRINTING

By using the characters of the Family Festival, children learn how to screen-print and then practice this new skill by creating their own Festival poster!

With pianist and composer CHASSOL, take a musical dive into the world of artists Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol. In Gallery 4, inspired by the places and works surrounding him and alone at the piano, the musician will improvise and talk with the audience.

Children and parents follow Jean-Michel and Andy through the New York City of the 1980s and explore their world filled with crocodiles, African masks, logos, bananas, crowns and many more fascinating forms. With help from a Cultural Guide, children have fun learning to interpret and understand the works in the Basquiat x Warhol. Painting Four Hands exhibition!

TypoTypex is a graphic and poetic journey through the letters of Arthur Rimbaud's poem Voyelles ("Vowels"). Part concerto, part projection drawing, this show by pianist and composer Mathieu Harlaut aka Chamberlain, accompanied by Studio Chevalvert for illustration, questions words in music.

CONCERT – THE TRAILBLAZERS

The Trailblazers, a group of young adults from Aulnays, began learning music in 2015 when its members were still very young, with professional musicians Bruno Wilhelm and Chloé Denis. For 8 years now, after some 80 concerts, a trip to New Orleans and multiple training courses with Orléans-based masters, this Brass Band has been revisiting the "classics" of the second-line funk repertoire with a breath of fresh air and extraordinary energy.

Composer and pianist CHASSOL presents a selection of pieces taken from his “Ultrascores,” musical trips to the United States with Nola Chérie, to India with Indiamore, to Martinique with Big Sun and to Japan, with his latest work, Ludi, freely inspired by Hermann Hesse’s The Glass Bead Game. He will also play his new piece, “CHASSOL plays BASQUIAT,” accompanied by his dazzling drummer.

This workshop invites children and parents to discover urban dance through sharing and games. Working in pairs, parents and their children explore notions of coordination, movement in space, relationships with others and balance. Between dynamic and calm moments, this workshop offers a time for complicity and sharing with your child. On the programme: dance movements, understanding rhythm, listening to music...

CLIMBING

An 8-metre climbing boulder is available all day for children to enjoy. During the Festival, everyone will have a chance to learn about this sport at their own pace!

ACROYOGA

Saturday and Sunday at 10:15am, 11:15am and 12:15pm.

Mélanie Lo offers families a joyful and gentle introduction to acroyoga. This practice is central to three traditions – yoga, acrobatics and Thai massage – and involves being in pairs, one parent and one child, to perform various balancing postures that develop strength and self-confidence.

COLLABORATIVE FRESCO WITH BAULT

Throughout the weekend, kids can work on a collaborative, monumental fresco designed by urban artist BAULT, to discover behind the stage on the Green Mirror.

Saturday and Sunday non-stop from 10am to 6pm.

For children, the refreshment area offers a selection of organic and artisanal products: juices, syrups and lemonades, sweet crepes, pastries from Bake, fruit gourds, sweets...

And for the adults, organic beer from Deck & Donohue, artisan coffee from Beans on Fire and vegetarian bowls from Marmites Volantes.

Pizza del Popolo : the foodtruck that brings the Naples pizza experience to Paris. Everything is done to reproduce the flavours of southern Italy: fresh ingredients selected with the greatest care, dough made with flour from the Caputo mills kneaded with leaven, and above all the wood-fired oven, also from Italy.

El Camion : This foodtruck, named best foodtruck in France, offers authentic, traditional Mexican cuisine, including the essential burrito, a wheat tortilla filled with the ingredients of your choice, and a children's version for the occasion.

La Tropicale Glacier : this family-run business designs and bakes 100% homemade ice creams, using fresh seasonal fruit. Conceived for its unusual recipes, La Tropicale offers original flavors, working to educate people about the taste of ingredients. This weekend's menu includes fleur de lait ice cream, mango keesar sorbet, passion raspberry sorbet...

La Cantine du Marché : is a convivial village concept dedicated to eating well. The selected restaurateurs favor short circuits and healthy, organic products.
