Pluriphonic electroacoustic sound, loudspeaker system.
Florian Hecker studied linguistics and psycholinguistics at Ludwig Maximilian Universität in Munich. In his installations, performances and publications, Hecker deals with specific compositional developments of post-war modernity, electro-acoustic music as well as other, non-musical disciplines. His most recent work C.D. – (A Script for Synthesis), (2013) was presented at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York during Performa. In 2012, he exhibited at Documenta 13 in Kassel. He has an extensive discography with over 25 releases, on labels such as Editions Mego, Pan, Rephlex and Warner Classics. He has collaborated with the musician Aphex Twin, the philosopher Reza Negarestani, and the artist Cerith Wyn Evans. Set in scene through the Fondation Auditorium’s loudspeaker and light system, Hecker dramatises a constellation of auditory objects and events. A sort of “automated performance,” this sound piece with a duration of 31 minutes exists in a zone between, sound, performance and visual art and reveals the quasi-sculptural nature of the sonic at the same time as it changes our reading of the architecture.
Written and produced by Florian Hecker; Sound Spatialization Design by Alberto de Campo and Olivier Pasquet.
