#FLVfromhome : Icons of Modern Art. The Shchukin Collection
The Fondation invites you to focus on the Icons of modern art. The Schchukin Collection exhibition, presented from 22 October 2016 to 5 March 2017.
The show paid tribute to one of the greatest art patrons of the early 20th century, Sergei Shchukin, the visionary Russian collector of French modern art.
The 130 works on loan from the Pushkin State Museum in Moscow, the State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg and the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow reveal the audacity of the collector's artistic choices and the rapidity with which he assembled one of the most significant collections of modern art of the early 20th century, consisting of works by Monet, Matisse, Picasso, Gauguin, Cézanne, Le Douanier Rousseau and Derain.
The film presents the "Icons of Modern Art. The Shchukin Collection” exhibition, with Anne Baldassari, curator of the exhibition providing commentary for each room of the exhibition.
