The Fondation welcomed Max Richter for two extraordinary evenings on 14 and 15 November 2025 at the Auditorium and in the galleries, featuring the SLEEP project, to mark the 10th anniversary of the musical work's creation.

To extend the experience, the Fondation is offering a musical tour through the galleries of the Gerhard Richter exhibition. In the German painter's work, blurring, erasure and layering examine memory and the mediation of images. The artistic worlds of painter and composer converge, creating a shared aesthetic around the treatment of time, its duration and its repetition.

Created in 2015 by Max Richter and conceived with his collaborator Yulia Mahr, SLEEP is considered one of the most ambitious and culturally significant classical music projects of the 21st century. This 8-hour musical exploration of the interaction between sound and the sleeping mind examines the effects of infrasound and repetition in promoting deep sleep.
