"Late Hours" Collection Courtauld

Date
3 May 2019 – 7pm

On the first Friday of every month, the Fondation presents special Late Hour events, a chance to see and experience the building, exhibitions and works in a whole new way.

May’s Late Hour event is an opportunity to liberate the natural landscapes and colours of the Impressionist paintings from the “The Courtauld Collection” exhibition. The names of our guest musicians form a chromatic palette, while a workshop invites visitors to create their own brooches made from dried flowers, an adornment that was in vogue during the Impressionist era.

The programme

7.00 p.m.-8.00 p.m.

DJ SET - JULIE BLANC

8.00 p.m-8.30 p.m. AND 9.00 p.m.-9.45 p.m.

DJ SET - SOLEIL VERT

A new arrival in French popular music, Soleil Vert is an intriguing and seductive mystery. With an aptly named first release entitled “Souvenir” – a nostalgic, cool, intoxicating ballad featuring the voice of Mina Tindle, this Parisian trio are preparing to release a promising EP. Whether hot or chilly, live or in the form of a DJ set, this “green sun” won’t leave you cold.

8.30 p.m.-9.00 p.m.

PEUR BLEUE

Quentin and Jérémie are Peur Bleue (“Blue Fear”), a duo of singer-songwriters steeped in classical music. Their two voices blend in nostalgic melodies sustained by obsessive electronics. Their songs are both assured and ultra-sensitive, and offer the pair an escape route and guidance in a fast-moving world. Their first EP was produced in collaboration with Flavien Berger, with whom they share a love of melody and a surreal imagination.

9.45 p.m.

JAUNE

JAUNE (“Yellow”) is the solo project of Jean Thevenin, a member of François & the Atlas Mountains and Petit Fantôme. Blending discoid pop and lunar sounds, JAUNE hits all the right notes. Playing with soundscapes and making liberal use of his sampler, JAUNE is at ease combining different genres from electronic to organic.

7.00 p.m.-10.30 p.m.

FLORAL BROOCH WORKSHOP

LEVEL - 1

Make your own brooch using dried flowers, just like those of the Impressionist era! These light, meadow flowers evoke the pictorial touches in the landscapes of Monet and Van Gogh.

A workshop by Les Gambettes Sauvages

7.00 p.m.-10.30 p.m.

SHORT TOURS

Starting every 30 minutes at the “micro-tour” meeting points on levels -1, 1, 2 and the top terrace.
