OBONGJAYAR CONCERT
HALL
Jean-Michel Basquiat had one foot in New York, the other in Haiti. Obongjayar has one foot in London, the other in Nigeria. Forming a link between these two artists is music: an eclectic blend of soul, jazz, hip hop and ambient. Obongjayar brings us these sounds, which have parallels with the music Basquiat would listen to while painting. A reserved, intriguing artist, Obongjayar is a poet of the 21st century, merging song and spoken word. Like Basquiat, he manipulates materials and words.
