On the first Friday of every month, the Fondation Louis Vuitton hosts its “Late Hours”, offering a new perspective on the building, the art works and the exhibitions. DJs and design, haiku tours, a new artist in the Open Space series and a preview of the Nuit Blanche installation are all on the menu for this first evening event associated with the exhibition “Charlotte Perriand: inventing a new world”.
7 P.M. - 10.30 P.M.
DJ & DESIGN – BY PAIN SURPRISES
Three artists from the Pain Surprises collective draw inspiration from the work, objects, materials and ideas of Charlotte Perriand in a set with mechanical, natural, Japanese-style sounds that traverse Perriand’s eras and styles. Pain Surprises is a label formed by an upbeat collective of Parisians: Jacques, UTO, Petit Prince, Jabberwocky and others, who promote a hedonistic vision of music and a passion for creativity. They each have their own style and context, but share the same energy, linked to their unique worlds.
HAIKU SHORT TOURS
GALLERIES, LEVELS -1, 1 AND 2
Starting every 30 minutes from the Short Tours meeting points
Reflecting Perriand’s close links with Japan, the Fondation’s guides will accompany their tours with short Haiku poems. Your task is to find the piece of furniture associated with each poem.
OPEN SPACE #6 – MERIEM BENNANI
9.30 P.M. : DJ set de Crystallmess
In her first solo show in Paris, Meriem Bennani has created a specific installation for Open Space #6 based on her new film, Mission Teens (2019). Inspired by teen movies, reality tv shows and web series, this fictional documentary follows the everyday activities of a group of college students from the Descartes French school in Rabat. Through the questioning, reflections, and aspirations of the students, the artist, or rather the donkey — her animated avatar behind the camera — investigates the impact of an educational system inherited from the French presence in Morocco.
