On the first Friday of every month, the Fondation Louis Vuitton hosts its “Late Hours”, offering a new perspective on the building, the art works and the exhibitions. DJs and design, haiku tours, a new artist in the Open Space series and a preview of the Nuit Blanche installation are all on the menu for this first evening event associated with the exhibition “Charlotte Perriand: inventing a new world”.

7 P.M. - 10.30 P.M.

Three artists from the Pain Surprises collective draw inspiration from the work, objects, materials and ideas of Charlotte Perriand in a set with mechanical, natural, Japanese-style sounds that traverse Perriand’s eras and styles. Pain Surprises is a label formed by an upbeat collective of Parisians: Jacques, UTO, Petit Prince, Jabberwocky and others, who promote a hedonistic vision of music and a passion for creativity. They each have their own style and context, but share the same energy, linked to their unique worlds.

Starting every 30 minutes from the Short Tours meeting points

Reflecting Perriand’s close links with Japan, the Fondation’s guides will accompany their tours with short Haiku poems. Your task is to find the piece of furniture associated with each poem.

9.30 P.M. : DJ set de Crystallmess

In her first solo show in Paris, Meriem Bennani has created a specific installation for Open Space #6 based on her new film, Mission Teens (2019). Inspired by teen movies, reality tv shows and web series, this fictional documentary follows the everyday activities of a group of college students from the Descartes French school in Rabat. Through the questioning, reflections, and aspirations of the students, the artist, or rather the donkey — her animated avatar behind the camera — investigates the impact of an educational system inherited from the French presence in Morocco.

Chef Jean-Louis Nomicos and his Chef executif Kenichi Yamamoto dedicates this "Late Hours" to the japanese gastronomy, in order to honor Charlotte Perriand and her love to the Land of the rising sun. On the menu : vegetables and schrimps tempuras, prepared in front of you by the Chefs, with a selection of home-made soy sauces.

Annette Messager

In the forecourt of the Fondation, a tent serves as a lantern in the semi-darkness. On the sides of the tent, babbling shadows appear, disappear and take shape as the light flickers. Inside, a group of actors represent hybrid creatures. Here, the tent is not just a shelter: it is a place to hide away and reinvent the world, whisper stores, experience life and its taboos.

Born in 1943, and based in Malakoff, Annette Messager has been a leading figure of French feminism and art since the 1970s. Her objects explore our inner lives and tell ambiguous, humorous and serious stories.

For this occasion, the Cantine is teaming up with Sarra restaurant, known for its healthy and delicious food.
