For this latest Nuit Blanche, the Fondation presents ART VIDEO CLUB, a video programme created by Valérie Donzelli.

Only the Auditorium is open to visitors; the David Hockney 25 exhibition will be closed to the public.

This newest Nuit Blanche is the chance for the event’s artistic director to take cinema out of the theatres and take it into the city, to take artists’ videos out of traditional screening venues. Echoing the theme chosen for this unique event, Valérie Donzelli has selected works from the Fondation’s Video Collection that address the concept of resistance and present it in all its eclectic forms: “If I don’t resist like my neighbour, then I will resist in my own way, with my art.”

These videos, screened in the Auditorium, are by artists of varied backgrounds and generations and are designed to be watched differently: they take over the Auditorium, resonating with other voices and other forms of memory. These are fragments of lucidity, poem-forms and visual songs. They converse without assimilating, but all affirm that, in the darkness of the present day, art can ignite sources of meaning, dissidence and beauty.
