- Date
- 4 December 2019 – 10am

- Auditorium
In conjunction with the Charlotte Perriand : Inventing a New World exhibition (until 24 February 2020), the Fondation hosts a symposium about the French architect.
Introduced by Pernette Perriand-Barsac and Jean-Paul Claverie, advisor to Bernard Arnault, and in presence of Suzanne Pagé, artistic director of the Fondaton Louis Vuitton, four round-table discussions, led by Laure Adler, Jean-Louis Cohen and Katia Baudin, will take place with international specialists and academics. Sébastien Cherruet, organisator of the conference, in collaboration with Martine Dancer, will coordinate the round-table and give the closing talk.
The discussion themes will provide an opportunity to review Perriand's life and career from the perspective of her artistic activities as well as her social and political commitment. We will examine her stance on the individual's role in nature, the position of women in society, a new type of living environment, the way different types of artistic creation relate to each other, and the concept of a “synthesis of the arts”.
