The Fondation Louis Vuitton and DADA magazine have put together a weekend of fun and fascinating events especially for families. There are "micro-tours" to explore the mysterious artists Basquiat and Schiele with your eyes, workshops to experiment with their artistic techniques using your hands, and games to discover the history of art with your family.

SATURDAY 27 AND SUNDAY 28 OCTOBER

2.30 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. (allow approximately one hour for the workshop).

EGON SCHIELE WORKSHOP (AGES 6 AND OVER)

Start at any time in the auditorium subject to the availability of places.

“Family weekend” ticket required

Schiele’s landscape paintings are not as well-known as his portraits and self-portraits, yet they are so full of life! In this workshop, children will learn about Schiele’s highly expressive style and create two landscapes that reflect opposite emotions. With Schiele, landscapes are never restrained.

2.30 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. (allow approximately one hour for the workshop).

JEAN-MICHEL BASQUIAT WORKSHOP (AGES 6 AND OVER)

Start at any time in the auditorium subject to the availability of places.

“Family weekend” ticket required

Basquiat’s work is full of colours, signs, words and… superheroes! Whether real or imagined, they tell mysterious stories that we must decipher. In this workshop, children will make a composition from raw materials to celebrate the hero(ine) of their choice, and invent their own world of codes and symbols.

3.00 p.m., 4.00 p.m., 5.00 p.m. and 6.00 p.m. (takes roughly 20 minutes). In the auditorium.

“THE GREAT ART INVENTORY” GAME (AGES 5 AND OVER)

“Family weekend” ticket required

DADA invites you to join in a giant game of Hide and Seek and learn about the history of art. To mark the newly published book Le Grand Inventaire de l’Art, a game is organised on a gigantic play mat. Join in with family or friends! The aim is to find everything that defines the art of a particular era, from prehistory to contemporary art.

Departs from the hall.

BOOK SIGNING BY LOUISE LOCKHART

Illustrator of Le Grand Inventaire de l’Art

DADA is the first magazine about art aimed at the whole family. This autumn, DADA is also publishing its first books. Le Grand Inventaire de l’Art is a giant album that guides the whole family through the history of art. The book is illustrated entirely by Louise Lockhart, the young British illustrator already famous for her design label The Printed Peanut. Louise will be at the Fondation for a special book signing.

CROWNS!

In the entrance hall.

“Family weekend” ticket required

Wear a crown on your head and be a hero for the weekend!

“Jean-Michel’s crown has three peaks, for his three royal lineages: the poet, the musician, the great boxing champion,” wrote Francesco Clemente, artist and friend of Basquiat.
