Late Hours "In Tune with the World" #2

Date
1 June 2018 – 7pm

On the first Friday of every month, the Fondation offers Late Hour events, a chance to see and experience the building, along with the works and exhibitions it houses, in a new way.

For the second evening dedicated to the In Tune with the World exhibition, explore the connections between humans and animals, in relation to the exhibited artworks of Pierre Huyghe, Phillippe Parreno, Marc Leckey, Maurizio Cattelan…

The programme

9 a.m. - 10.30 p.m.

RENART – “ORNITHOLOGIE DIGITALE” LIVE

HALL

Inspired by ancient techno, the medieval animal tales of Le Roman de Renart and traditional music, Renart designed his “Fragments séquencés” album to be a series of stories. Each track is a mystical episode that tells the tale of Singifus Pontifex, a mythical half-man-half-monkey character that conquers a gigantic exoplanet. At the Fondation, Renart highlights the album’s diverse archaeological sources: recordings of cyber-moineaux (“cyber-sparrows”), living creatures with digital capacities; or reflections on the devotional chants intoned as part of “Le Culte de la Noire Vouivre”.

7 p.m.–10.30 p.m.

ANIMAL MASK WORKSHOP

LEVEL -1

To get you in tune with the evening, choose an animal and personalise your mask to wear in the galleries, like the masked monkey, the main character in Pierre Huyghe’s video.

In collaboration with Klin d’œil

7 p.m.–10.30 p.m.

RAFAELA LOPEZ’S PIGEONS (L’HABIT FAIT LE MOINE)

PERFORMANCES – IN THE GALLERIES

Come take a closer look at these astonishing pigeon-visitors. Both a reflection of the public and an undesirable, incongruous presence, they wander calmly through the Galleries, examining the works that explore the relationship between man and animal.
