On the first Friday of every month, the Fondation hosts its “Late Hours”, offering a new perspective on the building, the art works and the exhibitions.

 

The last “Late Hours” of the season will be JAZZ!

(Re)discover the spirit of jazz in a laid-back atmosphere. The evening will start with a performance by Steam Down on the terraces followed by a concert by Shahin Novrasli in the Auditorium.

STEAM DOWN LIVE

TERRACES

 

Steam Down is a collective of artists based in Deptford, south-east London. Each of their performances is a co-created experience shared between the musicians and the public. With their exuberant energy, Steam Down transport us to vibrant soundscapes marrying groove, jazz and hip-hop.

CONCERT BY SHAHIN NOVRASLI
AUDITORIUM

 

Shahin Novrasli, a virtuoso contemporary jazz pianist, will perform his new album, From Baku to New York. Accompanied by drummer Herlin Riley and double-bassist James Cammack, Novrasli responds to the call of his mentor Ahmad Jamal. The concert will be a fabulous fusion between two generations of musicians.

GILBERT & GEORGE

GALLERY 2

 

From 3 July to 26 August 2019, the Fondation will present a rare and complete series by Gilbert & George entitled There Were Two Young Men (April 1971), a "six-part Charcoal on Paper Sculpture", which belongs to the Fondation's Collection.

Starting every 30 minutes at the “micro-visites” meeting points on levels -1, 1, 2 and the terrace.

 

Just like Gilbert & George, the guides will pair up for the evening in a dual presentation of a selection of works from the Fondation’s collection.

Terraces 

 

The Cantine du Marché invests the terraces for this sunny "Late Hours". Sip sparkling cocktails, fresh craft beers or iced organic juices at the bar. The guest food Presqu'île offers an iodized menu from the seacoast: bagel with lemon haddock, potato salad with caesar sauce and watermelon and its fruity mousse.

Gilbert & George. There Were Two Young Men, April 1971

The Fondation presents a complete version of a rare series by Gilbert & George, "There were Two Young Men", (April 1971), a "Charcoal on Paper Sculpture" in six parts which belongs to the Fondation's Collection. Due to its monumental proportions, this work suggests an immersive relationship with the viewer.

Open Space #5 Lauren Halsey

For Open Space #5, the Fondation hosts, for her first personal exhibition in Europe, the African-American artist based in Los Angeles, Lauren Halsey (1987-USA). She has created a new installation made up of geological modules –Funk Mound–.
