AUDITORIUM
As part of Open Space #11 THE GURU, Ndayé Kouagou invites Harilay Rabenjamina and Soa Ratsifandrihana to share their respective arts as part of a performance in the Auditorium. Harilay Rabenjamina will present MY HONOR IS SAFE, an autonomous epilogue of sorts in the form of thoughts expressed in song about what a voice can do following a tragedy, and Soa Ratsifandrihana presents Dance for All Young Black Romantics, a tip of the hat to the two artists whose natural romanticism kindle her desire to create a giving and sentimental dance.
Harilay Rabenjamina
Harilay Rabenjamina is an artist based in Paris. His work consists of performances, films, objects and songs in which characters are challenged to tell their stories. He is currently working on A GUEST OF HONOUR, an experimental opera.
Soa Ratsifandrihana
Soa Ratsifandrihana is a dancer and choreographer based in Brussels. She is currently touring her solo g r oo v e , an invitation to feel the frugal and sensitive pleasure of the act of dancing. HALL
La Cantine du Marché is set to New York time with an American-inspired bar: organic India Pale Ale (IPA), lemonade and ginger beer, along with more traditional cocktails. If you feel peckish, Will’s Deli is serving a North American specialty, Brooklyn’s famous pastrami sandwich with cheddar cheese and pickles on challah bread – and a vegetarian version made with roasted, turmeric-seasoned sweet potato.

FLV LAB #7
LEVELS -1, 0, 1 and 2
Each year, the FLV Lab, a digital workshop focusing on cultural mediation, invites students to design and build prototypes of innovative digital projects. The prototypes presented for the Lab’s seventh session are interactive tablet mini-games based on the world of Basquiat x Warhol: Painting 4 Hands and placed throughout the exhibition and along the architectural tour. Try them out and chat about them with the game designers!
In cooperation with the students seeking an Applied Arts master’s degree (DSAA) in graphic design and multimedia narration at the Lycée Jacques Prévert in Boulogne-Billancourt, France.

Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol produced around 160 canvases together in 1984-85, four-handed works or “painting 4 hands,” some of which were among the greatest of their respective careers. Explore the exhibition with enlightened help from cultural guides and see how the two painters worked enthusiastically within this intense collaboration. Their dialogue of shapes and styles addresses crucial subjects such as the Afro-American community’s integration and the consumer society and its icons through the eyes of Warhol.
